When we look for pictures of powerful or empowered women, the usual picture we see is a woman in a suit, running the world with strength and confidence, being a leader and a winner. The same description can be applied to a powerful man though.
So, what is an empowered woman from spirit?
As a channeler, I decided to ask the Divine and this message came to me: Our greatest gift as women, is bringing beauty into the world.
As new age as this might sound for some, stop right now and look all around you. Look at yourself. We thrive in beauty, we surround ourselves with it and as we are many expressions of the same divine energy, we express beauty in many forms.
We bring beauty into the world by decorating our environment, watering our plants, making a delicious coffee each morning for ourselves, or cooking a meal for a loved one. Likewise, we bring beauty by putting a shiny pin on a jacket, throwing a scarf or a bit of gloss on, or drawing a smiley face or a flower in a piece of stationary. We are so magical, we can change the routine of taking a shower into a ritual full of beauty and sensory experiences.
We bring love, kindness and comfort, we can be selfless and inventive, practical and sensitive. And all these attributes of our being is what allow us to be more intuitive and see beyond people and circumstances.
I guess now it is clear we are incredibly powerful.
Now, do you remember the last time you gifted yourself this divine feminine superpower of bringing beauty into your world?
Do you comfort yourself when you suffer? Do you say to yourself “I love you” when life feels hard? Do you gift yourself nurturing foods? Do you gift yourself alone time to just be?
The cornerstone of the power within, is self-care. This is when we are most empowered.
It’s very well known the saying “Be the change you want to see int the world”, I say, “Be the beauty you wish to see in the world”
Water the garden of your mind, nurture yourself with good food, sing when you feel your voice is being shut down, laugh when you are about to burst with emotion, caress yourself, recognize yourself and your power within. Exercise the superpower to bring beauty to your world every day.
Look at every little act of self-care you do, as a service to the world. By giving to yourself you are practicing self responsibility and being vulnerable at the same time.
Why vulnerable? Being vulnerable means recognizing the need to take care of yourself, that all the super women out there also need to hang the cape and take a break.
Being vulnerable will let you see your truth for what it is. All that needs to be healed, all that needs to be loved and nurtured. By being vulnerable you can bring beauty into those dark places and make friends and allies with your darkness. Illuminate it until it’s transmuted and transcend. And like this, you are more empowered than ever.
And all because of that divine gift of bringing beauty into the world and to yourself.
Us women, make the world beautiful because we can see a home when others just see a property, we see colorful blooming flowers when others only see weeds, we are an empowered woman in the making when healing those wounds that for so long have been in the darkness, and see scars as beauty marks of battles conquered.
Being empowered as a woman from spirit, is honoring and recognizing all that is your divine feminine. Beauty in all its forms: loving kindness, selflessness, tough love when needed, the goddess manifested, the healer, the wise woman.
Know that, no matter where you place yourself in these descriptions, when being loving and honest with ourselves first, we open the doors to healing and transformation to be the goddess realized, shining the divine light bright for yourself and to the world.
Simple self-care rituals:
· Listen to your favorite music (and dance and sing if you feel like it)
· When not feeling like your best, dress your best and realize how fabulous you are inside and out! (even if you are at home on lockdown)
· Make a date with yourself. Go for a coffee to your favorite place, cook or order a love packed dinner for yourself, go to an art gallery, museum or watch that movie you have been waiting for.
· Go out and imagine you are in your own movie, and that you are the star and the muse the whole universe loves.
· Gift yourself something that makes you remember how much you love yourself every time you see it.
· Watch a show or listen to a podcast that makes you laugh.
· Don’t take yourself too seriously.
· Treat your senses: get essential oils, make yourself a bath, buy yourself flowers, light incense, put that delicious perfume on even if you are going to sleep.
Many more examples can be written, but most importantly, use your intuition and self-knowledge to create your personalized experiences of self-care and bring beauty into the world, through you.
